"you know, we play Monopoly and games like that together"

-the same guy after the stunning realization that he was interviewing for a job supervising adolecents, answering Gloria's question, "what do you do at these parties?"

3.27- friends house

"well you are kind of old"

-Brandon Riely kindly helped me see the light when I was so excited telling a story about when I was asking for help from the librarian she "knew" I was a grad student. I thought it was because of the really interesting research I was doing on the Comanche language.

It was ironic because today was my birthday...28!

3.25- RA interviews

"Who me?"

-a potential RA candiate's amazing response to the question "Please, tell me about yourself". Please keep in mind how confusing the question might have been b/c the room was filled with three people: the interviewers (me and Gloria) and him.

3.8- staff meeting

"Can you believe you have to find your own baby?"

-Jay, a staff member, in utter disbelief that his professor would require them to observe a baby for his child development class. The baby was aparently not included in the class fees.

"I have a baby...I HAVE A BABY!!!"

-Jay, upon receiving a phone call in a restaurant informing him that a friend would let him observe her baby. He couldn't understand why people kept congradulating him as he left.

ps. if the picture is too obscure please see the comments. Maybe I am too old?

3.7- jeff jordan's house

" terrorists? "

-jeff jordan lending a hand to a group of people trying to figure out what eagles eat. During the Super Bowl, we were stumped on what Sea Hawks ate so we figured finding out what eagles ate might help us on our quest.

a shout out to my long lost friend Jefferson.
the quote farm misses you.

"I used to be a black person"

(in a very strong Spanish accent)

"my dog. She had, how do you say... She had some poopies. Yes some poopies"

-the owner of a dog who had recently given birth was in my ESL class testing my maturity, and if I would juvenilely laugh at such an innocent mistake. He found out that the more times you say "poopies" the younger I got.

ps. the picture is a real logo that just fit nicely to this post i promise. Click here.

*TWIZZLE – A traveling turn on one foot with one or more rotations, which is quickly rotated with a continuous (uninterrupted) action. The weight remains on the skating foot with the free foot in any position during the turn, and then placed beside the skating foot to skate the next steps.

3.2- office

"it was eye contact with a confused look - hands raised about chest level, palms facing each other but slightly angled about 45 degrees toward the sky, shoulders raised a bit for increased effect. This all followed by the "hands on a steering wheel" charade while the hands are turning the imaginary steering wheel from side to side."

-Kevin wrote in an email that he had given someone the "why are you driving a car" hand signal. This is Kevin's written responce to me inquiring what the "why are you driving a car" hand signal looked like.

ps. click on the picture for information on proper biker gang apparel, and how biker gangs travel in such organized packs

3.2- Starbucks

"I want some coffee"

-an old boot wearing, belt buckel sporting, cowboy hat having, Texas grampa at his first time to Starbucks answering the question, "what can I get for you today?"

"I just want some BLACK COFFEE"

-beginning to get exasperated and astonished at the questions from the barista who was trying to help him say "I would like a grande, Verona, drip, no room for cream"

-thanks to Nell Ann's family for this gem,
